But this weekend, I noticed mental growth for both of them. Maxwell is learning to identify his letters. He has A, B, C, D, E, F, L, M, O and P down pat...now we're just working on the rest. He really enjoys playing with his letter blocks, so we've been playing with those a lot. I'm impressed with how anxious he is to learn them because he's been so uninterested in learning up to this point.
Payton amazed me today, too. Last week I was proctoring all the testing at his school/my work, so I was privileged to see how he tested and watch him take the tests. On the math portion, he scored really high and I was so proud of him, but I noticed when he got to multiplication he had no idea what to do. No surprise really since he's only just entering first grade and has never had it explained to him. But I knew it was frustrating to him to have those problems there and not be able to answer them.
Today, we played a game and I explained multiplication x0, x1 and x2. He did a GREAT job and picked it up really fast. I actually had to tell him if he kept going his brain would hurt because he was trying to do too much.
I'm amazed at my lil' men and how they're growing up with the potential to be such intelligent and studious young men. Makes my heart skip a beat. ♥
P.S. The new song is my current favorite. Mom, listen close.
How He Loves Us
by David Crowder Band
by David Crowder Band
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.
And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…
He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,

I miss those precious boys. We have to figure a way to get you back near home.
Love U all.
It's my fave song right now, too ( although it's tied with "Holy Holy Holy" by Phillips, Craig, and Dean). David Crowder has definitely been blessed with the gift of songwriting.
