Six-Word Memoirs

Most of you know that I check "PostSecret" every Sunday. It's a vice of mine. I like to see what other secrets people have to confess. Frank, the "owner" of PostSecret started a MySpace page where today, he posted another interesting topic. SIX-WORD MEMOIRS.

There is a book that came out in Feb 2008, written by "SmithMag", where the idea is "Could you write your story in only six words?" Hemmingway was once challenged to do so. His response?

FOR SALE: baby shoes, never worn.

I haven't come up with mine yet. I have a few thoughts. I guess I'll post it when I get it right.
Can you come up with yours?

Thank You, My Friends

Since my last post, there has been an outpouring from my friends. Concern, mostly, but laughter and hugs as well. The friends I have are my rock and support. They understand, listen and offer solid advice.

So, THANK YOU, my friends. You're shoulders to lean on, arms to get hugs from and ears to listen are appreciated and will be used.

Flippin' Emotional

I've been doing some deep thinking lately. I'm analyzing and contemplating. It's made me a bit reclusive and detached. So if I'm not the same lately, I apologize. I'm taking a break from blogging for a few days while I think. I know you all understand.

Safety doesn't happen by accident

Payton has spend 20 hours of the last two weeks in Safety Town, put on for a small fee by Clinton Township, MI. It was an AMAZING program that I highly recommend to all my friends.

Each day had a different safety theme; Germ Safety, Bus Safety, Bike & Street Safety, Fire Safety (including a trip to the fire station), Stranger Danger and 911, EMS & Poison Safety, Pool Safety (with a trip to the pool of course) & Outdoor Safety. Payton had a great time with some of our friends who were also in the same class.

On the last day, they had a "graduation" where they taped little tassels to the kids' bike helmets. They sang songs, ate cake and did a craft and then everyone got to play in the Safety Town. Great day. Great kids. GREAT program! Enjoy the pics & video.

My Birth Month!!

Yep! It's here! Just like someone else I know, I get a whole month. (Luckily, or maybe unfortunately, we don't have the same birth month.) I'm worth a whole month. I know it. ;) And I get to share it with the Olympics this year. I love that.

So far, the plans are pretty mute. Such a shame. Hopefully, I'll be going out of town next weekend to visit the other birth month girl to celebrate someone ELSE's birthday (they apparently aren't worthy of a whole month). Beyond that, on my actual birthday, a friend has offered to make dinner for me and the boys since Matt has to work. Then on Friday, the 15th, Matt is off work. I think we're going to The Melting Pot. YUM! FONDUE! Maybe see a movie or something after.

I am going to try to make it "home" to Ohio for a few days closer to the end of the month. But, I already received my present from my parents. I got a great haircut and color last night (no, I couldn't wait until Saturday, Gene!) I'm really happy with and I am loving the stylist too! I can't wait to try to straighten it. I think it will work pretty well!

So, go ahead, wish me Happy BirthMonth!
