come on summer.....

Not only does it seem that school will NEVER end, but I think the summer weather has gotten stuck somewhere and isn't coming to Michigan.

Yesterday was Payton's first t-ball practice and we sat in the bleachers drinking hot cocoa dressed in jeans and sweatshirts. It was only 58 degrees when we left. Brrrr! Today is not a whole lot better. The sun was out for part of the day, but with the wind there was still a strong chill in the air.

Tomorrow is Payton's last day of learning at school. Friday is field day (I loved that when I was in school!) with Family Fun Fest in the evening. Monday is the kindergarten field trip to the zoo. I'm hoping I get a great group to chaperone. Tuesday is the end of year party and Wednesday he only is there for graduation ceremonies. It can't happen soon enough in my opinion.

Knowing it's the "end of the world as I know it", I'm trying to plan as much family and kid stuff as possible and very little "alone" time this summer. We'll be heading to Ohio several times to be with each of our families at least once or twice I think. Matt has a week of vacation planned the week after July 4th, but we still don't have a clue what we'll do. Normally we head to N. Carolina for a week on the beach, but this year, finances just don't allow it. Maybe next year... We did promise Payton at least a few days at a beach somewhere....now just to find one that doesn't have a ton of rocks and is more like what he thinks of as a beach.

If you want us to head your way, or meet you half-way, please let me know ASAP so we can mark you on our calendars! Local friends; zoo trips, farm trips and Metro Beach trips are all in our plans! Hope to see you there!

I agree, where the heck is summer? We are being seriously jipped here. Sounds like you have a busy summer ahead, but I hope we'll be able to get together at least once!

While visiting family in Berea, just remember we are only a short ½ hour drive south. Our complex has a pool (no beach, but very nice pool) and we also have no plans for 4th of July. Matt works Fri and Sun, so we will be around the whole weekend!
